If you are from Hong Kong and are a British national (overseas), you and your family members can apply for a Hong Kong BNO visa. This is also known as a BNO visa. It allows you to live, work and study in the UK. The BNO visa UK is granted for an initial period of either 30 months (with an option of extension for a further 30 months) or 5 years, and upon completion of 5 years with a BNO visa in the UK, you become entitled to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) as a BNO. After one year of being granted Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), BNO citizens can apply for either naturalisation as a British Citizen or registration as a British Citizen. An application for a BNO visa UK is made per the requirements set out in Appendix Hong Kong British National (Overseas) of the Immigration Rules.

Financial Evidence: Evidence that you can support yourself and your family for at least 6 months, unless you've been living in the UK for 12 months or more.
