Senior or Specialist Worker Visa (Global Business Mobility Route)

The Senior or Specialist Worker route under the Global Business Mobility category is designed for overseas employees undertaking temporary work assignments in the UK. This visa is intended for senior managers or specialist staff who are being transferred to a UK branch, subsidiary, or affiliate of their overseas employer. Such transfers are commonly referred to as intra-company transfers (ICTs).

It is essential to note that this visa does not directly lead to settlement in the UK, meaning it is not a route to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).

However, individuals in the Senior or Specialist Worker route may be eligible to switch to other visa categories, such as the Skilled Worker visa, from within the UK. Switching from a Senior or Specialist worker visa to another work visa route that leads to settlement can provide a pathway to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), subject to meeting the relevant eligibility criteria.
