The Home Office UKVI issues the sponsor licence to a UK employer/business and grants permission to the UK employer to sponsor workers in its business. Only organisations, not individuals, can be Home Office-approved licenced 'sponsors'. The Home Office UKVI maintains an online register of licenced sponsors, and all UK businesses holding sponsor licence appear in the register of licenced sponsors.
